The first freedom

This artwork, "The first freedom" is inspired by the first of the four freedoms.
Freedom of speech and expression.
I chose to paint on a pre primed canvas to represent a life pre written by our parents ideals and expectations.
The gentle acrylic washes to layers of impasto, conveys the ups and downs of family life.
My composition is of the fleeing butterfly that has emerged from the constraints of her cocoon, demonstrating our independence and finding our own path.
And finally the last layers, textured directional brushstrokes in oil, to express the connections and love between family and our own adventure.
Please note any images with an external decorative frame is not included but can be added by request.
Artwork edges a neatly painted and do not require a frame.
