First freedom

First Freedom explores a quiet moment of emergence — where inherited narratives soften and something more self-defined begins to take shape. Movement unfolds through layered gesture and restrained colour, creating a sense of lift, tension, and release held in balance.
Rather than asserting a fixed meaning, the work invites contemplation of freedom as an inner state — shaped by memory, intuition, and presence. Subtle shifts between transparency and density allow the painting to remain open, encouraging personal reflection and sustained engagement.
Aligned with my mantra “I am more than that,” First Freedom reflects the understanding that identity is neither inherited nor abandoned, but continually becoming — held gently between origin and possibility. Conceived as a statement work, it offers a quiet yet powerful presence within refined contemporary interiors.
